It All Started With A Rescue Dog 🐶 And A Tablecloth
TurfMutt Foundation president, Kris Kiser, rescued the first TurfMutt superhero, Lucky, from an Indiana highway. Together they quickly formed a team that would influence the way future generations interact, appreciate and are inspired by the natural world outside their back door. Mulligan picked up the cape in 2019 after Lucky, the first TurfMutt, passed. She continues the legacy of helping save the planet, one yard, park and schoolyard at a time.
For fifteen years, The TurfMutt Foundation has advocated for outdoor living and the care and stewardship of our yards, parks, and other green spaces, for the benefit of all. By educating citizens about sustainability and the benefits of living landscapes, we are helping develop a greener, healthier quality of life for our families, communities and future generations.
TurfMutt’s Heroes
Lucky
As the original TurfMutt, Lucky took a program that was designed to educate kids and made it possible to see backyards and urban habitats differently. Through the eyes of Lucky, we see that these living outdoor spaces have a greater purpose.
Sadly, Lucky crossed the rainbow bridge in the Fall of 2019.
Mulligan
Mulligan is the current spokesdog for the TurfMutt Foundation. Rescued by the Kentucky Humane Society and adopted by Foundation President Kris Kiser at Mulligan’s Mutt Madness adoption event at Equip Exposition, Mutt Mulligan continues the legacy of Lucky the TurfMutt, the first rescue dog to represent the program.
