Making a Difference 📣

The TurfMutt Foundation encourages outdoor learning experiences, stewardship of our green spaces and care for all living landscapes by teaching about the outdoors and educating citizens about how to help sustain a greener, healthier quality of life for this and future generations.

Outdoor learning 🪴

TurfMutt has partnered with Scholastic, Discovery Education and Weekly Reader to hold sweepstakes and contests in which educators and students entered to win grants to expand or develop their school’s outdoor green space for better outdoor learning.

Global Learning 🌎

The Foundation, through its youth education resources, teaches students and teachers how to “save the planet, one yard, park or school yard at a time” and offers educational materials aligned with STEM for K-8 educators and students through the U.S. Green Building Council’s Global Learning Lab. The program has reached more than 70 million kids, teachers and families with their youth education materials.

TurfMutt has been an education resource at the U.S. Department of Education’s Green Ribbon Schools, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Green Apple, the Center for Green Schools, the Outdoors Alliance for Kids, the National Energy Education Development (NEED) project, Climate Change Live, Petfinder and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Mulligan’s Mutt Madness

The TurfMutt Foundation produces a dog adoption event through a partnership with the Kentucky Humane Society every fall at the award-winning trade show, Equip Exposition. More than 60 dogs have found their “fur-ever” homes through this event.

At Equip Exposition, TurfMutt also sponsors a 5K Fun Run & Walk over the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge to raise funds for the Kentucky Humane Society.
