Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG) has announced that Brandon McMillan will return to host the 11th season of the television show Lucky Dog, which is sponsored by the TurfMutt Foundation. The new season of the Emmy-award winning show premiers October 7.
Since its inception, the show has helped to rescue, rehab, train and re-home more than 200 dogs. McMillan, the animal trainer who began with the show for its 2013 debut and went on to host more than 180 episodes, will bring his special brand of charm and expertise back to the series. For Season 11, McMillan returns to the Lucky Dog Ranch, where he'll revisit some of the most heartwarming and illuminating episodes from his seven seasons as host. He'll "watch along" with the audience as he re-lives his experience rescuing and training shelter dogs and pairing them with "forever" families. At the end of each episode, McMillan will reunite with original families to find out how the adopted pets have made lasting impressions on each member.
Spokesdog Mulligan the TurfMutt, a rescue from the annual dog rescue event Mulligan's Mutt Madness, will be featured in episodes of Lucky Dog during the new season. Mulligan’s lovable personality coupled with her work as TurfMutt’s spokesdog make her a great ambassador for spreading the word that dog rescue is helped with pet-friendly landscapes, yards, and parks.
The TurfMutt Foundation is dedicated to educating people on ways to create purposeful and environmentally-responsible living landscapes that everyone, including pets and wildlife, can enjoy. TurfMutt also supports animal rescue, rehabilitation and adoption, including sponsoring Mulligan's Mutt Madness. The national dog adoption event, hosted in conjunction with the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS), has matched over 50 rescue pups with their forever homes. The event is held during Equip Exposition and is open to attendees of the tradeshow. The 5th Annual Mulligan’s Mutt Madness is on October 19 in Freedom Hall from 11:30 – 2 p.m.
